Short Overall Summary of Position: The Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the e-bidding activities for seven branches in the Midwestern U.S.

As a Project Procurement Specialist you will make an impact with these responsibilities:

  • Proactively interact with internal stakeholders such as sales, operations, and procurement managers to identify e-bidding opportunities.

  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager and Account Executives to be sure e-bidding events are executed within the appropriate time frame.

  • Manage all e-bidding events to be sure the appropriate number of qualified bidders were invited to participate.

  • Actively engage subcontractors to verify their interest in e-bidding participation prior to launching an event.

  • Monitor live e-bidding events and address any questions or issues that arise.

  • Train Account Executives or new internal user on use of the e-bidding tool. Work closely with all new sales professionals to make certain they are comfortable with the system.

  • Train external subcontractors on how to use the e-bidding tool and be the first point of contact for technical issues or questions.

  • Provide a detailed summary of e-bid results to internal stakeholders after the event has closed. Confirm subcontractor proposals have been uploaded into the system.

  • Closely monitor metrics related to e-bidding utilization that tie directly into corporate policies and targets. Use available data to closely monitor e-bidding participation by branch.

  • Collaborate with the Electrical Estimator, Procurement Manager, and Account Executive to confirm all bidding documents are uploaded to the system.

  • Review and release all purchase orders with a value under $50,000 and verify that contract awards were compliant with bid policies. Seek out opportunities for price negotiations and capture all documented cost savings.

  • Support the procurement team by managing master subcontract agreements.

  • Run financial reports on subcontractors and work with the Procurement Manager on insurance enrollment.

  • Offer support to the procurement team in various areas including issues with billings, payments, vendor set up, contract questions, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Background or knowledge of construction, project management, or project coordination.

  • BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management.

  • 3+ years in commercial construction and experience with bid solicitations and negotiating pricing and contract terms.

  • The pay range for this position is $65,400 – $88,300. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
