CPS Warehouse Supervisor in Lehighton, Pennsylvania
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff involved in loading operations.
- Schedule and coordinate shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Loading Operations:
- Oversee the loading of pallets onto flatbed trailers and into shipping containers.
- Ensure all loads are secured and meet safety standards.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to manage loading schedules and priorities.
- Paperwork and Documentation:
- Verify and process all paperwork related to loading activities, including shipping manifests, load sheets, and bills of lading.
- Maintain accurate records of loaded shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Address and resolve any safety concerns or violations promptly.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate loading and shipment.
- Coordinate with the inventory control team to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
- Communication:
- Liaise with other departments, such as production, quality control, and transportation, to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide regular updates to the Warehouse Manager on loading activities and any issues.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, particularly loading and shipping procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the warehouse.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, if necessary.
