The Business Intelligence Analyst is pivotal in engaging with clients on matters related to property data and analytics, such as conducting in-depth consultations to understand their business challenges and providing tailored data-driven solutions. This position involves managing customer-facing analytics, reporting, and relationships. Additionally, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be instrumental in transforming data into actionable insights, driving value for clients, and maintaining the company's competitive edge in the industry. The Business Intelligence Analyst ensures the successful delivery of reporting outputs and collaborates with the data team responsible for XactAnalysis Insights.

Who We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly motivated and high-functioning individual who can push the limits of delivering value through data and insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, business analytics, or a related field, with extensive experience in the property insurance and reconstruction industry. You should have a proven track record of effective client engagement and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, natural curiosity, and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for someone who is outcome-driven, adaptable, and has a positive demeanor with a strong focus on delivering value to clients.

  • Build strong relationships with key clients to understand their business needs and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis using XactAnalysis Insights and other relevant tools.
  • Regularly meet and consult with key clients to deliver industry benchmark data and offer expert advice on actionable insights.
  • Work internally with data analysts to build, customize, and deliver comprehensive reporting and presentations that provide actionable insights for key clients.
  • Assist the Customer Success Managers in implementing data-driven strategies and solutions with their clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with insurance industry trends and advancements in data analytics.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Account Executives, Customer Success) to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Provide project estimates and resource requirements to the BI Leader.
  • Interact with external Verisk clients and internal BU clients to understand priorities and BI needs.
  • Create detailed work breakdown structures for BI projects.
  • Design BI and analytical solutions.
  • Mentor the team, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure solutions meet specified technical requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Share important methodologies, advances, and best practices with the analytics community.

Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's degree.

Experience:

  • Experience as a data consultant, business analyst, or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the Property Insurance and claims industry workflows and the role data plays in it.
  • Extensive experience with Verisk Property Estimating Solutions, particularly XactAnalysis Insights.
  • Proven track record of effective client engagement.

Skills:

  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, and ThoughtSpot.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to convert business requirements to technical specifications and ensure timely delivery of BI solutions.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, including mentoring an d guiding less experienced colleagues.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting data analyses to both tec nical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and transforming findings into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technology advancements.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience with generative AI and its capabilities is a plus.
