About the role Responsible for all aspects of the ISO Program including documents, training and auditing. Responsible for all aspects of Safety for the facility and will maintain records of safety and training for all employees. Responsible for equipment training and certification as well as various other safety, quality and administrative duties. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Implement and monitor all ISO requirements. Provide documentation to support all warehousing activities. Conduct or assign internal audits as required; perform comprehensive audits annually. Maintain job descriptions. Maintain quality manual. Maintain safety manual. Maintain corrective action requests & records and their resolution. Conduct ISO orientation with new employees on first day of employment. Schedule and set agenda for management review meetings. Coordinate the semi-annual ISO Continuous Assessment. Conduct safety orientation with new employees on first day of employment. Document all aspects of employee safety training. Conduct semi-annual emergency drills. Maintain MSDS information and provide hazardous material training. Ensure all hazardous material is tagged, marked, and labeled. Act as Safety Committee Administrator. Maintain records of monthly Safety Committee facility inspections and meetings. Manage safety and OSHA programs. Plan annual safety agenda. Assess and implement safety procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience Education, Knowledge, Skills, Training, and Experience: Some college level coursework in logistics or a minimum of 3 years experience with ISO procedures and processes in an automated distribution or manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years experience in a safety capacity, preferably in supervision of a safety program. Must have P.C. experience, be pro-active and a self-starter and have knowledge of general warehouse functions. Requires highly developed organizational skills and meticulous recordkeeping. Must be capable of planning and scheduling internal audits and annual agenda. May be required to perform the function of an Internal ISO Auditor. Requires daily contact with management, supervision and general warehouse employees as well as contact with corporate quality and ISO personnel and outside auditing agencies. Has or will possess advanced abilities in, and knowledge of, all duties outlined above, and the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have working knowledge of safety and OSHA standards pertaining to the distribution/warehouse environment. Must have working knowledge of all equipment utilized in the facility and address all safety issues for each. Prefer safety and first aid certification. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Must have excellent sight, hearing and verbal communications skills both in person and on the telephone, along with the eye, hand and body coordination necessary to efficiently operate any assigned equipment. Must be able to lift 70 pounds, walk from location to location, sit, stand, lift, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and/or climb. The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, climb, and walk on concrete floors periodically throughout the workday. Use hands to handle, finger, feel, or control objects; including keyboards and hand-held scanning equipment. Possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to clearly listen and hear) both in person and on electronic and/or telephonic equipment. Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision Distance vision Peripheral vision Ability to adjust focus Ability to utilize a CRT screen The noise level in the work environment can be high based on equipment and conveyor utilization. Additional Responsibilities: Must actively remain involved and informed through investigation of any new information or revisions concerning procedures and/or functions. Use professional judgment to determine the definition of safety as it applies to the facility, must be diligent in enforcement of all policies. Must actively and continuously strive to maintain current information and/or revisions concerning safety and OSHA regulations. Must be capable of planning and directing safety meetings, audits and an annual agenda. May require the administration of discipline in conjunction with the supervisor as a result of safety violations. Must be capable of cooperating with safety organizations and OSHA.
