May develop and implement prevention services | | over a varied group of topics including substance abuse, mental | | health, bullying, suicide and other areas as requested. Responsible | | for training all staff in prevention and education services and | | appropriate use of the service. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Position Description: | | | | - Provide both prevention and education services to school | | districts in Clinton and Warren Counties | | - Develop, define and implement realistic, effective and measurable | | goals and plans for services in partnership with schools | | - Identify needs of the population served and utilize supportive | | educational methods that are age/developmentally appropriate to | | the population and topic | | - Collect, track, and evaluate program data for fidelity and | | service quality | | - Complete service documentation accurately and timely in | | electronic health record | | - Assist with community prevention projects and activities at | | community events & information dissemination tables; provide | | trainings for faculty and/or community members | | - Remain current on Prevention and Education standards and ensure | | the program provides services in accordance with those standards | | - Identify and assess needs of customers/clients | | - Utilize supportive educational methods that are appropriate to | | customer and topic | | - Complete service documentation accurately and timely in | | electronic health record | | - Provide both prevention and education services | | - Facilitate referral to and/or provide appropriate level of care | | - Develop, define and implement realistic, effective and measurable | | goals and plans for services | | - Collect, track and evaluate program data for fidelity and service | | quality | | - Recruit community groups, schools and others for prevention | | services | | - Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules | | and regulations | | - Drive for job duties as assigned | | - Other duties as assigned | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Skill in prevention and education techniques and interventions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate/interact with wide variety of people
  • Knowledge of code of ethics, conflict of interest and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate professional dress, speech and behavior
  • Detach from client issues and view objectively as appropriate to the position

Job Require ents:

* - Minimum of Associate's Degree; Bachelors degree in public health, health education, community health, social services preferred*

* - Must have or be willing to obtain a Prevention credential (RA, OCPSA/OCPS) within 12 months of hire; CHES & CDCA are acceptable*

* - Must pass required background checks*

* - Must have current driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance*

 

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

  • Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Occasional standing and walking. Constant sitting.
  • Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching, handling and fingering.
  • Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking.
