The City of Lebanon is accepting applications for the full-time position of Account Clerk II in the Tax Department. 2-4 years of experience preparing and/or auditing Municipal and Federal Income Tax Returns, or the completion of related coursework or training is preferred. Successful candidate must possess strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and a general understanding of office equipment and practices. Additionally, a team oriented attitude and ability to work in a high-paced environment is essential. This is a highly interactive, public-facing position that prioritizes providing exceptional customer service to the general public in person and via telephone. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Prepare and/or review Income Tax returns to assure accuracy and compliance with City ordinances. Responsible for sending correspondence addressing discrepancies and answering inquiries directed to the department. • Process tax payments from individuals, businesses, and withholders including payroll companies. • Assist with the compliance program to ensure taxpayers are filing and paying timely, including helping taxpayers requesting to establish a payment agreement. • Communicate effectively with taxpayers, tax preparers and co-workers both in person and in writing. The successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Ohio Driver's License. The starting hourly range for this position is $19.24 -- $26.97.
