Dartmouth Health System Inventory Control Specialist - Supply Chain in Lebanon, New Hampshire
Overview
Monday - Friday 7:30 - 4pm
Responsible for oversight and management of all distribution activities and functions, to include maintaining the inventory integrity of the supplies stocked in the central warehouse and throughout all D-HH sites.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Conducts all aspects of ordering, receiving, distribution, and warehousing of essential supplies across D-H system locations.
Maintains and strives to continuously improve inventory systems to order, control, and stat/expedite supplies to enhance the fiscal management of the department.
Adjusts item re-ordering points based on EOQ/TOC methodology.
Assists in resolving inventory, product and stock issues as well as shipping and receiving issues directly with Supply Chain team.
Leads cycle counts and annual physical inventory to verify accuracy and resolve product discrepancies, working with Supply Chain Technology to update system
Collaborates with Supply Chain Management and system members to move to low unit of measure (LUM).
Performs monthly re-slotting of product based on velocity.
Assists in the setup of new par stocking locations to ensure efficiency, standardization and optimization.
Analytics / Reporting:
Develops and communicates reports based on inventory utilization and KPI’s by department, employee, item and turns. Tracks errors and designs improvement plans.
Monitors department par levels and adjusts to appropriate levels based on historical ordering and emerging demand trends.
Implements improvement processes and systems to reduce PAR levels, low product usage and minimize cost across supply locations.
Analyzes inventory/product data and meet with departments to review PAR data and make recommendations.
Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to create and update existing PeopleSoft reports as needed.
Regulatory, Compliance, Pandemic:
Supply Chain Liaison for FDA, Joint Commission and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (DHH) system to ensure compliance with all applicable policies.
Collaborates with quality and clinical team members to ensure regulatory compliance for products with limitations and restrictions. Provides control over pandemic supplies.
Responsible for recalls, alerts, substitutions and hazards to (RASH) committee when needed.
Communicates with emergency management, safety department, state and local agencies and system members in regards to inventory and supply chain readiness.
Develops standard working procedures related to product expiration date, lot number tracking, and rotation to ensure quality.
Helps to develop and educate departments and system members on new regulatory policies and procedures. Ensures the consistency of training for supply chain staff across the continuum of care.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Responsible for accurate handling, distribution and inventory control of certain pharmaceutical and medical supplies
Qualifications
Associate’s degree with six (6) years’ experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis and usage trends.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and PC technical skills, including training and/or experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to identify potential problems, investigate the cause, problem solve, and communicate procedural errors to appropriated Supply Chain and clinical staff.
Flexibility and willingness to perform a combination of routine and non-routine functions under limited supervision.
