Dartmouth Health Project Manager - Research in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

This position is dedicated to the research development in the Northern New England CO-OP Practice and Community Based Research Network (NNE CO-OP PCBRN) which is housed in the Department of Community and Family Medicine. Under the direction of the NNE CO-OP PCBRN and department leadership, the role invovles managing, coordinating and devloping programs and initiatives for the network. The individual in this position will lead the implementation of assigned project activities and provide collaborative leadership to project assistants and partners. Responsibilities also include monitoring grant activities, managing budgets for contracts and purchased services, overseeing data management, and ensuring effective communication and reporting with partners, sponsors, and governmental agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and manages implementation of project activities including evaluations, data collection and management, project coordination, and collaborative relations.

  • Coordinates and attends meetings to determine project requirements and participates in establishing timelines and project organization.

  • Maintain organization of the NNE CO-OP PCBRN website and assist with recruiting, maintaining, and updating the NNE CO-OP PCBRN membership database.

  • Collaborates with local and national academic, community, and clinical networks, identifying new opportunities and developing relevant programs and initiatives.

  • Organizes and executes the annual NNE CO-OP PCBRN meeting (last weekend of Janurary).

  • Builds and sustains relationships with community-based practices and organizations.

  • Addresses questions, concerns, and suggestions from NNE CO-OP PCBRN members.

  • Tracks and manages network activity and collaborates with partners to assure integrity of project and timely problem resolution.

  • Manages data collection and analysis, providing required reports and maintaining high standards of data security.

  • Monitors ongoing project plans, progress, budgets, and expenditures and effectively communicates project status to leaders as applicable.

  • Prepares and initiates completion timelines and ensures all required project close out documents are obtained.

  • May develop training and instructional materials, manuals, and toolkits as needed.

  • Assists in proposal writing and participates in development of papers and presentations.

  • Assist with research finances including processing invoices for payment.

  • Participates in project review and recommends ideas for improvement initiatives.

  • Assists and guides project assistants and other partners and supervises project staff as required.

  • Performs various tasks as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field of study with five (5) years of research experience or the equivalent of education and research required.

  • Master’s Degree or PhD or foreign equivalent in relevant field, preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of research methods, procedures, and techniques.

  • Experience in animal models may be required.

  • Previous project related work involving complex scheduling and communications preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational and management skills to plan and organize the research approach and project parameters.

  • Grant writing/management experience preferred.

  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of computer software applications used for research investigations.
