Dartmouth Health Buyer - Nutrition Services, Per Diem in Lebanon, New Hampshire
Overview
Responsible for the day to day business transactions with assigned suppliers to ensure end user's timely access to the appropriate supplies, services and equipment. Duties will include purchasing and managing orders for materiel within established policies and procedures. Buyer will be responsible for managing transactions by exception, including but not limited to: productshortages, recall notification, substitutions and return of defective or obsolete items.
Responsibilities
1.Researches new suppliers and negotiations to obtain the best possible overall value.
Works with service line teams, finance / internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage budgets.
Manages timelines of projects with suppliers.
Manages new supplier setups including credentialing, on-boarding and contract administration processes.
Ensures contracting and procurement standards are maintained. Understands deliverables, gates and checkpoints using D-H's established sourcing process.
Follows established sourcing and contracting processes.
Works with team to analyze, interpret and present data in a meaningful way.
Works with FNS Accounting team to ensure order management activities and financial transactions are processed in a timely manner
Monitors shipments to ensure goods arrive on time, in accordance with specifications.
Works with FNS accounting team to implement payment process, monitors and resolves any supplier payment issues.
Works with suppliers to expeditiously avoid or resolve disruptions to product supply or services or any situations where quality does not meet customer expectations (defective).
Works with suppliers when appropriate to establish pre-approved product substitutions for hiah volume and/or critical commodities.
Makes recommendations to leadership team regarding opportunities to reduce overall life cycle costs or when suppliers are not performing in accordance with contractual terms,including performance guarantees.

Qualifications
Three (3) years of work related experience required.
Bachelor's degree in related field of study preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work effectively in groups, build consensus and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within our healthcare system and with suppliers necessary.
Demonstrated proficiency with D-H's Enterprise Resource Planning System (PeopleSoft) will be required within three (3) months of employment.
Understanding of group purchasing organization's functions.
APICS, CMRP or similar purchasing certification preferred.
