$101,760.00 Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits
*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for engineering enterprise wide computer and information systems networks including IP based LAN, WAN, intranet and extranet landscapes which provide service for voice, video and data.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform network design, modeling, analysis, troubleshooting and oversight
Coordinate and manage the installation of hardware, software, infrastructure cabling, network switching, edge firewalls, wireless access points and wireless end points
Research and recommend vendor tools to support network and telecommunications architecture designs
Benchmark and recommend solutions based on industry best practices
Write operations technical specifications documents
Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external resources.
Identify and implement VoIP networking components, techniques and protocols
Troubleshoot and triage network incidents ranging from physical layer issues up to application related load balancing problems throughout the network stack
Design, test and inspect IP based data communications systems
Develop, evaluate and document network standards
Develop approaches for network architectural governance
Coordinate implementation timelines for network hardware and software architectures
Design and drive the implementation of a network security plan including authentication, firewalls, proxy servers, remote access and federation
Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework
Conduct operational efficiency studies focused on the analysis of network performance, and identify areas of opportunity for improvement

Review wireless access point coverage and make recommendations for improvements
Mentor and guide less experienced technical resources
Train and perform knowledge transfer to Network Administrators and Telecommunication Specialists
Identify technology trends that can improve performance and cost mitigation efforts
Assess business and application requirements for cooperative data and voice networks
Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC and ERCOT Reliability standards including Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards
Participate in maintaining availability of Control System environments
Document changes made to systems or equipment through appropriate change management, communications and record keeping practices
Maintain the security of confidential information
Stay abreast of advances in technology
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware andsoftware programs, entering data, configuration, or processing information
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
Knowledge of load balancing integration, design and implementation processes
Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS and DHCP functionality
Knowledge of network protocols such as SNMP, multicast and 802.1x, 802.1q, 802.1d
Knowledge of enterprise network security
Knowledge of Cisco, Unified Communications, Contact Center, switches, routers, firewalls and
VPN devices
Knowledge of enterprise hardware, i.e., x86 Microsoft Windows servers, storage (EMC, IBM, HP, PURE), mobile devices, Windows desktops and Apple
Knowledge of enterprise software, i.e., VMWare, Active Directory, LDAP and MS Exchange
Knowledge of OS and networks, i.e., Windows server, iOS, Citrix, TCP/IP, L2/L3 switches, load balancing, firewalls and MS clusters
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint and Visio
Knowledge of budgeting and procurement processes for network projects

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Directly related experience may substitute for education
Six years experience with Network related systems
Cisco CCNP Certification Preferred
Industrial Control System or SCADA related network experience preferred
NERC CIP v5 related experience preferred
