KIHOMAC Senior Avionics and Electrical Systems Engineer in Layton, Utah
Perform technical analysis and research associated with the assigned task area for problems with specific objectives and requiring investigation of a limited number of variables
Make recommendations on technical alternatives, component design or selection, and/or adaptation to meet assigned requirements
Follow, perform, and record program technical results through technical documentation to include work instructions
Participate in the organization, planning, and management of new aircraft avionics and mission systems
Design, build, interface, and test multiple computer systems in a modular architecture to meet Safety, Security, Environmental, EMI and performance requirements
Create data interfaces for Ethernet, serial, and various avionics bus protocols and support throughout the entire software development life cycle from requirements definition to product deployment
Coordinate with Avionics and Mission Systems suppliers via specifications and prepared statements of work
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and external stakeholders from various disciplines to include electrical power, flight controls, propulsion, airframe structures, rotors, fuel, hydraulics and drive systems
Work directly with vendors and customers to verify that avionics systems meet design and performance requirements
Support business development efforts where analysis and input are required to define a solution set
Perform duties under supervision of Chief and Staff engineers
Mentor subordinate engineers
Works in an Agile, collaborative team framework
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
Demonstrable experience with: navigation, crew station design, displays, open processing environments, aircraft survivability equipment, sensors, communications integration, vehicle management and health monitoring systems
Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
Possess working knowledge of MIL-STD-1796A
Security:
Must be a US citizen
Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
