Robert Half Part Time Accountant in Lawrenceville, New Jersey

Description Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Part-Time Accountant to join their team. You will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, verifying financial records and transactions, and analyzing financial data. Our ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, is detail-oriented, reliable, and possesses top-notch analysis skills. Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy. Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports to reflect the financial standing of the company. Ensure compliance with the company's policies, relevant industry regulations, and tax laws. Continually analyze financial details to identify areas for potential cost reduction. Liaise with internal and external auditors and resolve any financial discrepancies or issues. Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes. Streamline accounting functions and operations to ensure systems are aligned with the company’s business objectives. Provide training and guidance to accounting staff to enhance performance and skill. Requirements Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional knowledge of Excel. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors. Excellent mathematical skills and analytical mindset. Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and financial data. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. This role will have the flexibility to work from home or in-office part-time as necessitated by the workload and company requirements. They will report directly to the company's management and ensure all financial operations within the organization are running smoothly.
