  • Administrative Support

-Community Policing

Assist officers with community engagement efforts

-Patrol Assistance

observe officers while participating in ride along

-Investigative assistance

Provide minimal support to investigators, research, interviews, paperwork related to internal investigations

-Training Development

-Help with coordination of officer training programs, assist in preparing materials and observing training sessions

  • SOC Operations

Observe and learn dispatching techniques.

-Policy Work

Assist in editing and forming departmental policies for all staff to abide by.

-Data Input

Assisting with database entry as directed

Position Summary Information

General Summary

In team environment, theStudent Intern – Law Enforcementwill participate in the operations of the WSSC Water Police Department. Support officers and staff with administrative support and assistance on special projects. The intern will also experiencecommunity policing/engagement, dispatch operations, and patrol officer ride along.

College student majoring in Criminal Justice or related discipline

Ability to proficiently use MS Office applications
