Position Summary Information

General Summary

The Student Intern – GIS will assist applications development teams in providing software solutions to build new applications, automate repetitive tasks, manage database operations, document management solutions, and enhance existing applications.

Essential Functions

• Assists staff to provide technical support to Commission staff

• Ability to work in teams with staff in developing and maintain GIS applications and databases.

• Ability to work within a cross disciplinary team on IT projects.

• Performs other relates technologies related duties as required

• Research COTS products and recommend solutions

Other Functions

Uses scripting languages like Python

Perform GIS analysis and create outputs (Maps, dashboards)

Work Environment And Physical Demands

Business casual office setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Coursework in Geography, GIS

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements

  • Completion of 2+ years college coursework in an IT discipline (or related discipline)

  • Coursework or experience with GIS software

Additional Requirements

MS Office Applications experience

Preferences

ESRI framework experience preferred.

SalaryCommensurate with education and experience
