UnitedHealth Group Utilization Management RN Case Manager Per Diem Remote in Las Vegas, Nevada

If you are located in the Pacific Standard Time zone, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Determine the appropriateness of inpatient and outpatient services following evaluation of medical guidelines and benefit determination

  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems

  • Act as a resource for others; provide explanations and information on difficult issues; assist in precepting when needed

  • Responsible for utilization management of hospitalized health plan members, discharge planning and collaboration with discharge planning

  • Work collaboratively with community partners, plan members and Managed Care interdisciplinary team

  • Develop individualized discharge plans that involve provider, patient and caregiver goals for successful transitions of care

  • Collaborate with patient, family and health care providers to develop individualized plans of care that encompasses both acute care episode and post hospital discharge plan

  • Advocate for patients and families as needed to ensure patients’ needs and choices are fully represented and supported by health care team

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in state of Nevada

  • 3+ years of Managed Care and/or Clinical experience

  • Proficiency working in various EMRs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Case management experience

  • Utilization review experience

  • Managed care experience

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Knowledge of Milliman or Interqual guidelines

California, Nevada, or Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
