POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for managing service operations, including financial results and management of service operations’ team. In addition, this role is responsible for growing the Service Business through the hiring and development of the Service team.
What you’ll do:
Ensures the completion of all preventive maintenance contracts, service projects, pull through orders and T&M within the business portfolio.
Partners with Manager, Service & Special Projects (along with Sales and Service Coordinator Leaders) to develop department budget, monitor expenses and ensure the group is operating efficiently and effectively. Manages operational activities on an ongoing daily basis, exercising tight cost control and maximizing price realization.
Ensures billings are reviewed monthly and any deviation in the monthly financial results can be justified. Assists with determining quarterly service sales commission payments.
Assist the sales team with operational support to secure new business and take the lead on driving all pull through and T&M orders.
Seeks customer feedback and takes measures based on feedback to ensure customer satisfaction.
Partners with Safety to implement new and ongoing programs, including compliance with site-specific safety requirements. Performs periodic site inspections. Participates in safety/incident investigations and reviews. Ensures timely responses and documents actions/corrections.
Manages and mentors the service operations team to develop their technical, supervisory and leadership skills. Assists with hiring, coaching and training employees. Conducts group meetings as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other related field preferred or applicable experience
10+ years of service management experience for a control systems and/or HVAC organization, including people management
Significant experience in managing a service business greater than $5M in revenue
Ability to work very effectively in a collaborative manner with colleagues and staff to create results driven, team-oriented environment
Very significant service, contracting, operations, and people management skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct personnel toward greater achievement of a common goal
Significant presentation, verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with customers, vendors and employees
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
Solid Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills
Significant knowledge of HVAC and overall building systems is required
