Shepard Exposition Services Operations Supervisor in Las Vegas, Nevada

Shepard Exposition Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor oversees local events in the branch region. They manage the planning and execution of all the activities of each assigned event. They monitor the necessities of each event, share pertinent information with the event team, project production planning, and create labor calls to complete the event. The Operations Supervisor improves any operating processes on site and continually monitors customer service and labor for improvement.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supervise production of trade shows on local events

  • Project labor costs and track labor throughout event until completion

  • Compile and share production plans

  • Follow Team Leader Standard Operating Procedures when performing Team Leader duties

  • Review and adhere to Management Orders per event

  • Complete exhibitor orders in a timely manner

  • Place union labor calls

  • Schedule and supervise union labor

  • Maintain knowledge of union contracts, rules, and labor rates

  • Meet planning and production deadlines

  • Enforce safety rules and company best practices

  • Follow all payroll procedures and submit payroll accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ensure timecards are coded correctly for accurate job cost reporting

  • Control labor expenses and minimize overtime

  • Travel nationally as needed to supervise specific tasks or projects

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working on-site for a trade show general contractor – supervisory experience is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Bi or multilingual a plus

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company
