Gaming Technician The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all slot machines, slot systems, and related equipment within the department to ensure optimal operation. Follows all operating procedures, safety regulations and policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the repair of slot machines, slot systems and slot signage

  • Ensure compliance with all gaming regulations, internal policies and procedures

  • Perform slot conversions, projects, floor coverage and assignments when requested

  • Walk the casino floor to verify all slot machines and bill validators are operational, including but not limited to signage repair and light bulb replacement.

  • Bring disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of management

  • Assist with slot system and machine updates

  • Assist with breaking down, moves and sets-up stands and slot machines

  • Assist in a preventative maintenance program for all slot machines and related departmental equipment

  • Assist with keeping the slot repair shop organized and clean

  • Promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service

  • Cooperate, communicate and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees in all departments.

  • Exhibit mutual respect and consistently projects a positive, helpful image and attitude

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years slot technical experience

  • Experience in troubleshooting and overall maintenance of CDS data communications system is preferred. Equivalent experience in related systems will be considered

  • Ability to apply commonsense and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in busy work environment while effectively multi-tasking

  • Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to perform necessary functions in a timely manner with minimal and/or no supervision

  • Working knowledge of documentation required in transactions including machine entries, and machine repairs logs

  • Ability to operate equipment such as basic tools, two-way radios and any other specific tools are required of the trade

  • Ability to operate computer equipment

  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • Accurate money handling and documentation skills

  • Excellent guest service skills

  • Present a professional appearance

  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • 21 years of age or older

  • Electronics degree preferred (Electronic Bench repair possible)

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Nevada Driver License

Physical Requirements

  • Walk, stand, sit, climb or stoop more than 75% of the time

  • Use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity more than 75% of the time.

  • Ability to operate hand truck to move 400+ lb slot machine

  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying/bending/kneeling/climbing/ and standing more than 75% of the time

  • Using chemical agents (up to approx 25% of the time)

  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail

  • Hearing, vision (including peripheral), speech and literacy (critical)

  • Ability to work in a smoky, noisy environment with bright lights, some dust, hot /cold &

  • humid temperatures

  • Ability to communicate vocally utilizing portable radios and telephones (critical)

  • Ability to distinguish between shades of color

  • Occasionally drives motor vehicle
