Director of Hotel Sales The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary:

This role is pivotal to the organization's success, providing the strategic vision, leadership, and operational oversight necessary to drive the performance and effectiveness of the hotel sales division. By managing and coordinating all hotel sales activities, this position ensures the alignment of sales strategies with The STRAT’s business objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, develop, measure performance, and discipline of assigned leadership staff

  • Oversee the execution of the division’s operational plans in the assigned areas

  • Monitor and control labor costs by ensuring adequate coverage based on business demands

  • Ensure work performance standards, and employee development programs maximize the individual growth and development of staff

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of financial reports to monitor the profitability and expenses of the division and take appropriate action by creating and implementing strategies and tactics to reduce cost and/or increase revenue

  • Formulate and operate within annual marketing plan, operating budget, and capital budget to accomplish goals and objectives

  • Ensure division is maintaining and acquiring travel industry accounts, domestic and international accounts, and corporate groups

  • Generate new business through sales inquiries as well as conducting external sales calls

  • Oversee the mining of sales leads within the division

  • Attend and represent The STRAT at trade shows, mixers, luncheons and sales meetings that will strengthen the property’s competitive position and drive strategic opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position

  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 5 years Hospitality sales experience in a leadership/management position

  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities

  • Results and people oriented, but have sound judgment—ability to balance other business considerations; Service oriented, but assertive/persuasive

  • Professional level ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and team members

  • Demonstrated skills in influencing other, interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing

  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service

  • Previous experience using the computer programs Delphi and LMS preferred

  • Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system

  • At least 21 Years of Age

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • High School Diploma required

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

  • Verify right to work in the United States
