Description

We are in search of a dedicated Assistant Controller based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The selected candidate will play a vital role in managing our financial accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and journal entries. The role also involves preparing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. This role operates within the finance industry, and the successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to the financial health and stability of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and journal entries

• Participate in the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of general ledger reconciliations and the reclassification of journal entries

• Assist with the preparation and review of the organization's financial statements

• Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the accounting department, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Handle regulatory filings such as filing the 5300 Call Report for Credit Unions on a quarterly basis

• Participate in the vendor management process, working with the executive management team to ensure all contracts and due diligence documentation are obtained

• Take part in special projects as requested by management, including accounting research and analysis

• Assist with investments, ACL calculations, ALCO reports, audits, regulatory examinations, budgets, and tax returns

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Budget Processes, Accounting operations, Microsoft NAV, Fixed Assets, Journal Entries, Financial Analysis, Financial Statement Preparation, Monthly Close, General Ledger, Regulatory Filings, and GAAP Accounting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role such as Assistant Controller or Finance Manager

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Solid understanding and experience in Budget Processes

• Proven ability to manage and oversee Accounting operations

• Experience with Microsoft NAV software

• Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Journal Entries, and General Ledger

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis and Financial Statement Preparation

• Experience in Monthly Close processes

• Familiarity with Regulatory Filings and GAAP Accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• CPA or other relevant certification is a plus

• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Proficiency in English language, both written and verbal, is necessary for the role.
