Up to $71,250

Job Summary:

Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups with substance abuse issues; provides community consultation and education and staff orientation and training; assists in team supervision and participates in the planning, development, and implementation of services as part of the ACT Team.  

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.

  • Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.

  • Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with patients and their families.

  • Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.

  • Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Actively seek feedback and supervision, and engage in personal reflection and self-correction

  • Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice

  • Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws

  • Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines 

  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients

  • Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices

  • Formulates realistic, patient centered treatment goals and evaluate progress toward goals

  • Knowledge of developmental needs of population served

    Job Requirements:

  • Will have at least a Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a behavioral health related field.

  • C urrent New Mexico license in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, Licensed Substance Abuse Associate Counselor (LSAA), or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC).

  • Preference will be given to individuals with training or experience in integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders

  • Must maintain a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and current car insurance. Must submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.
