Job Description

Serves as a group leader to a small number of laborers and/or groundskeepers; participates in the general maintenance of parks facilities and grounds; instructs and trains employees on proper methods and procedures; reviews and inspects work in progress and upon completion for compliance with standards; ensures all park equipment is accounted for at the end of each day's work.

Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Coordinates, assigns, monitors, and participates in building and grounds maintenance activities; instructs and trains employees the proper methods and procedures; reviews work in progress and checks for compliance standards upon completion.

Receives work orders from the supervisor; checks and picks-up equipment; transports crews and equipment to designated areas and follows through with work orders.

Picks up trash from different areas and arranges for transportation to the City landfill.

Cuts grass when needed.

Ensures all equipment checked out of the warehouse is returned at the end of the day.

Picks up equipment needed for special projects from the compound.

Checks sites for vandalism and broken equipment.

Prepares and maintains accurate reports regarding status of repairs and maintenance performed by the crew.
