Community Health Systems Clinic Office Assistant in LAREDO, Texas
Coordinate the scheduling, referral management, registration, prior authorization and insurance verification processes for patients. Identify and handle customer needs, providing exceptional customer service in a timely and efficient manner while working in a team environment. Screen and update established patient information for accuracy, and schedule procedures according to procedure description. Work closely with clinical department staff to schedule procedures in an efficient manner based on departmental scheduling protocols. Responsible for assisting providers with patient care and performing front duties as designated by the provider and/or Office Manager. Responsible for making patient appointments and communicating information to patients and family. Assists with phlebotomy, special collections, EKG's (If applicable), performs vital signs, transport meds, practice infection control between patients and other duties assigned by the director. Ensures the LMC values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operations.
Required: High School diploma or equivalent and/or One (1) year in healthcare setting performing scheduling, registration, insurance verification and or billing functions.
Required: Ability to work without direct supervision and adapt to changes in policies and procedures. Required: Familiar with medical practices and medical terminology. Required: Knowledgeable in computer applications processes. Required: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
If employee is assisting with provider care, Required: the employee will need to have MA/Phlebotomy certificates/experience and CPR within 30 days of hire.
Reports to the Director of the unit department and/or Unit Charge Registered Nurse and/or Clinic Manager.
