Robert Half HR Generalist in Laporte, Texas

Description We are in search of an HR Generalist to join our team in the Credit Union industry located in LaPorte, Texas. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As an HR Generalist, you will be integral in administering and monitoring our human resource programs, ensuring compliance with policies and external regulations, and providing an effective resource for resolution of employee relations issues.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor human resource programs in compliance with credit union policies and external regulations

• Serve as a resource for staff and managers for resolution of employee relations issues

• Conduct and prepare onboarding for new team members

• Administer payroll and benefits, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness

• Maintain and prepare a handbook on policies and procedures and provide guidance on adherence to these policies

• Execute recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt employees, including creating effective advertising strategies, utilizing Internet resources, and conducting background and reference checks

• Maintain department records and reports, participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other relevant meetings and seminars

• Keep company organization charts and employee directory up-to-date

• Process daily correspondence and prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy of work

• Review employee time sheets for accuracy of time off and process any change of status requirements

• Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations required within the scope of duties. Requirements • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role within the Credit Union industry • Strong understanding of Benefit Functions within a Credit Union context • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Proven track record in ensuring Compliance within a Credit Union setting • Experience in handling Employee Relations • Knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations and their application in a Credit Union setting
