The Opportunity

The Ally internship program seeks to guide and mentor students with development opportunities designed to provide a bridge between the academic world and the world of business. #LI-DNP

Areas of Opportunity * Finance & Insurance (F&I) Products - this group is responsible for the development and management of Ally Insurance's F&I products. The team continually evaluates the marketplace to identify new, or updates to existing products to support F&I growth. The team will develop strategies to distribute those products and work with stakeholders to bring them to market. * Data Operations - this group is involved with any data requests or projects in the insurance business. The team develops graphs, reports, dashboards, and presentations for all areas of the business and produce routine and ad hoc data extracts using SQL. They also identify data issues and conducts research to determine the best course of action for correction and identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. The team defines and test data requirements for all data related to insurance. * Actuarial - The Pricing team works on modeling and analytics related to our GAP product, loss cost estimation, analytics, trend analysis, and profitability analysis. The Reserving team is involved in estimating IBNR requirements and/or imbedded profitability in UPR. claim count forecasting, business plan and forecast inputs. In addition, the team introduces standard actuarial concepts and lays a foundation for growth in the actuarial field. * Account Service and Support - Analytics - The Sales Performance Analytics team is responsible for managing all aspects of data and reporting for insurance sales at Ally. The team oversees a cloud data platform, providing top-line reporting solutions, business intelligence analytics, and industry and competitor analysis to key stakeholders across Ally's auto-related business. The team’s goal is to drive growth by transforming data into actionable insights that lead to measurable results. They work collaboratively to ensure that insights inform strategic decision-making and ultimately contribute to the success of the business. * Ally Dealership Insurance (ADI) - Analytics - The ADI Business Analytics team is responsible for managing and reconciling third party data sources, consolidating information into a usable format, and analyzing data for business use. The team supports ADI strategy by delivering results that promote data-driven decision making. * Ally Dealership Insurance (ADI) Underwriting - this team manages the inventory insurance for Ally. The team underwrites new and renewal business within our three inventory insurance programs, as well as managing a portion of our large group program. The team determines dealers risk eligibility, pricing and terms, along with answering coverage questions for our respective clients. * Quantative Risk - this team is responsible for modeling dealer profitability, progress towards profitability and management of catastrophic risk through modeling, tracking, reporting and ad hoc analyses. Risk review is integrated throughout all of our insurance business process and decisions and the team provides critical analysis and support of effective business decisions in line with our risk appetite and tolerance levels. * Insurance Service Center - Mechanical Claim Specialists - this team manages inquiries from dealers, independent repair facilities, retail customers and lienholders involving VSC and GAP claims, cancellations, and general information. Responsibilities including meeting all customer service, quality, and loss cost control objectives.
