Job Description

 

General Purpose of the Job:

The HR Partner will provide consulting and functional expertise to assigned Sparrow Division(s) on human resource strategies, organizational development, talent management, and other organization or HR initiatives.  Through the design, development and implementation of HR strategies, the HR Partner supports the achievement of Sparrow strategic priorities by leading projects, being knowledgeable in most aspects of the role, and being able to resolve complex issues with support and guidance from Leadership or a Senior HR Partner.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.  Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Builds collaborative relationships with leaders, unions and other key business units that support the success of assigned departments or divisions.
  • Responsible for SHS policy and collective bargaining agreement interpretation
  • Assist leaders navigate through the investigation process by coaching, reviewing documents and communicating with the respective unions, if applicable.
  • Mentor or coach less experienced leaders on business and leadership practices, SHS policies and procedures, and collective bargaining unit agreements.
  • Advocate and promote HR programs and practices by keeping leaders informed, educated and trained on changes and new tools to best support business and Caregiver needs.
  • Analyze business data to recommend sound solutions to help leaders meet strategic organizational goals for their department or division.
  • Consult with leaders on performance management and corrective action process to maintain consistency and equity in application.
  • Negotiate terms of grievance settlements and Memo of Understanding resolutions between SHS leadership and union representatives.
  • Play an active role in the formulation of solutions to key business challenges or strategic goals of the department or division.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on strategic priorities related to workforce planning, talent management, organizational development and other strategic HR initiatives.

     

Job Requirements

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3 years progressive HR business partner, HR generalist or related experience. • Minimum of 3 years Caregiver/Employee relations experience.

Education

• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience OR Associates Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience OR HS Diploma and a minimum of 7 years experience
