We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team.

In this position...

  • You'll be in charge of leading a passionate group of Engineers on the API Strategy for Ford Credit for its Digital Products.

  • You will lead the application architecture discussions with Enterprise Architecture, engineers, product teams to define the fine-grained implementation plan for the development team

  • You will be part of an Orchestration platform team that is responsible for API Security and a Federated GraphQL-based API platform. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and leading the next-gen strategy for the platform and enhancing the CI/CD based practices and evolving SRE principles.

What you'll do...

  • As Ford Credit embarks on the journey of its platform modernization, we need to define a platform roadmap for the next few years enabling features for the current stack and paving the way for the future.

  • Provide thought & solution leadership from an API-first perspective and establishing best-practices.

  • Ability to understand high-level digital channel requirements, translate them into system and process requirements, and manage the system implementation including collaborating with the API Security, Enterprise Architecture, Digital Experiences, and domain services team.

  • Experience with Federated GraphQL API Implementation, including best practices from security, graphQl router configuration like tags, persisted queries.

  • Guide and mentor a team of 15-30 Engineers in setting their goals for the year and helping them accomplish the same. There is going to be collaboration involved with both onshore and offshore teams.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related fields

  • 10+ years experience in managing/leading API/backend projects and/or teams.

  • Working experience and knowledge of end-to-end delivery from design, development, integrations, monitoring, and logging solutions into production operations.

  • Apollo GraphQL certifications are required.

Even better, you may have...

  • Masters degree in computer science, information systems or related fields

  • Excellent oral and writing communication skills.

  • Understanding of Apollo Studio development environment and tools.

  • Project Management methodologies and tools, preferably Agile methodologies, Jira tools.

  • Familiar with DevOps and Automation tools and processes like GitOps is plus.

  • Experience in the Automotive industry is plus, not mandatory.

  • Knowledge of GCP Platform is a plus
