POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Recycling Sorter, you will play a crucial role in our recycling operations. You will be responsible for efficiently preparing and sorting various materials or products for recycling purposes. Your primary objective will be to sort assigned products from the conveyor line and place them in the appropriate collection areas.

  • Ability to perform physical components of the position, including lifting and moving objects.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks and complete multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to CDC Guidelines for COVID-19, ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Recycling Sorter, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Sorting plastics, glass, tin, metal, and cardboard efficiently and accurately to ensure proper recycling. This involves identifying and separating different types of materials based on their composition and recycling requirements.
  • Inspecting materials for contamination or non-recyclable items and removing them from the sorting process to maintain the quality of recycled materials.
  • Operating sorting equipment and machinery effectively and safely, following standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitoring the conveyor line and promptly addressing any issues or jams to ensure continuous and smooth flow of materials.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and cleaning of sorting equipment and work areas to promote a safe and organized environment.
  • Collaborating with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and meet quality standards.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize workplace hazards and ensure the well-being of yourself and others.
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or process inefficiencies to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
  • Participating in training programs and staying updated on recycling regulations, procedures, and best practices to enhance your knowledge and performance.
