TEKsystems Powerbuilder Developer in Lansing, Michigan

Required Skills:

  • PowerBuilder Developer: Research and modify PowerBuilder source code to document the steps the application uses with data (10+ years)

  • T-SQL Query Writing: Resource must have a high level of SQL query writing skills to write complex queries to pull data from a Sybase and MS SQL Server database. - Must have experience developing processes to extract and manipulate data to support data migration and data cleansing of application data (10+ years)

  • Data Management: Must have experience in performing data profiling, data mapping, data manipulation, validation, and analysis (10+ years)

  • Source Control: Must have experience working with other developers utilizing source control (5 years)

  • Unit Testing: Must have experience documenting and performing unit testing to support program changes (10+ years)

  • Documentation: Must have experience creating, updating, and maintaining documentation for programs, system specs, and flow diagrams (10+ years)

  • Testing: Must be able to work with the client and/or Business Analyst to support test scenarios (5 years)

  • Production Support: Analyze and document identified problems to determine root cause and provide root cause analysis (5 years)

  • Change Management: Follow change management procedures and provide input to execute changes (5 years)

  • Requirement Gathering: Capable of working with clients to gather requirements and ensure functionality meets the needs of the agency (5 years)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline

  • PowerBuilder Development (version 2017 or higher)

  • Work in a hybrid office and home environment. (Two days a week in-office)

  • Willingness to learn.

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.

  • Capable of picking up and deciphering code with minimal guidance
