Moldmakers are responsible for the full assembly, repair and maintenance of dies/molds, inserts and components. Works from plans, diagrams and specifications to perform a group of related and unrelated operations to manufacture a completed product or component. Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.

  • Possesses an overall knowledge of purpose, use, fit and function of all mold and die components.
  • Knowledge of new mold assembly, die tear down and spotting.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of assembling molds and dies.
  • Knowledge of polishing finished molds and dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify molds and dies using machine tools and hand tools.
  • General computer knowledge (Express Review, Microsoft Office -- Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Overall knowledge of CNC machining/programming.
  • Operate all manual shop equipment and have all personal tools required to perform job duties.
  • Must have a good attitude, be self --motivated, be able to meet planned time lines and be dedicated to continuous improvement. Open to candidates with various levels of experience. First/Second shifts available.
