Industrial Maintenance -- Rolling Stock Mechanic

Biewer of Lansing, LLC is looking to add a Rolling Stock Mechanic to lead the production departments. This position will maintain all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance throughout the Treatment plant.

Scheduling: Monday- Friday from 4 PM -- 12 PM

Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Install, maintain, repair, and modify production equipment and instrumentation according to codes, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
  • Setup & Calibration: Set up machinery, calibrate equipment, pull wire, and align various systems (OLI, canter, quad, TBL, gang, trimmer).
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, and disposal of defective parts.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with machinery, including motors, gearboxes, drives, sprockets, chains, and belts.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies. Utilize CMMS for parts retrieval and stock management.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit maintenance reports, review downtime, and suggest improvements for preventive maintenance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and contribute safety ideas to the Safety Committee.
Qualifications:

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the lumber industry or in industrial maintenance.

Skills: Proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, torching, arc welding, and electrical principles. Competence in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and manual lifts.

Mathematics: Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
