This position reports to the Cesar Chavez Multicultural Center (CCMC) Director and is responsible for collaborating, coordinating, and assisting with the delivery of activities to support college initiatives related to first generation, non-traditional and under-represented students. This position will participate in the organization and planning of activities designed to support initiatives to diversify, improve, and increase global and cultural competence within the campus community.

This position is specifically responsible for leading the following programs: Men About Progress (MAP), Latinos Unidos Con Energia, Respect Y Orgullo (LUCERO), and Cultural Enrichment programs. Responsibility for these programs extends to mentorship, planning and coordinating program activities, developing program plans, weekly student support hours, monitoring participant activities, planning program field trips, planning community service activities, and reporting student success metrics.

This position will support the success of students participating in CCMC programming through the provision of co-curricular activities that are aligned with the essential learning outcomes of the college (specifically Personal and Social Responsibility and Intellectual and Practical Skills, including teamwork and problem solving) and designed to support retention, persistence, completion, development of life-long skills, and a sense of belonging.

This position will be required to become knowledgeable about all student support services available to LCC students (including academic advising, tutoring, coaching, counseling, library, accessibility, and career services); providing referrals as needed.

This position will be equipped to provide presentations on CCMC programming and Office of Empowerment (OE) in general. Such presentations may take place during program meetings, student orientation programs and CCMC tours.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
