State of Michigan-DTMB Compliance Specialist in Lansing, Michigan

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.

 

This position will function as the ITS 14 Compliance Specialist within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), supporting the following Agency Services Divisions as lead - Public Health/State Hospitals/Behavioral Health/Developmental Disabilities, Administration/Departmental Solutions, Data/Analytics/Visualizations, and Technology/Database Support. This position will also serve as backup to their co-Specialist supporting Health and Aging Services Administration/Bureau of Audit/Office of the Inspector General, Children's Services/Child Support, and Eligibility.

 

This specialist is the multidisciplinary authority responsible for the security compliance design, planning, implementation, and support of State of Michigan DHHS applications. This position is responsible for the adherence to, compliance with and reporting on, all Federal, State and Industry technical security requirements for MDHHS applications the position oversees and provides back-up support on.

 

MDHHS has a portfolio of 250+ applications, with varying compliance requirements including, but not limited to NIST, HIPAA, PCI, CMS and IRS. These multi-million-dollar systems require an ITS14 Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with policies, processes and State and Federal security mandates. This position will also be required to provide training and interpretation of the frameworks, regulations, laws, policies and GRC tool the State of Michigan and MDHHS must adhere to.

 

SIGNING BONUS:

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Required Education and Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

 

Experience

Information Technology Specialist 14

Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.

 

Alternate Education and Experience

An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure
