The Channel Sales team is responsible for selling products and services to a wide range of highly complex or major accounts and customers and executing sales plans, targets, and budgets within the overall regional and business unit sales strategy. Accountable for increasing sales/client ratio and expanding customer base.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Sales Manager opening to join our KitchenAid Small Appliances (KASA) organization. This position is based in Benton Harbor, MI, and reports directly to the US Sales Director. You will be responsible for managing the Amazon business.

In this position, you will work closely with Shopper Marketing, Demand Planning, Merchandising, Finance & Sales Operations teams to influence, develop, and execute multiple facets of the business from promotional plans to marketing plans to a valued shipment forecast. You will be surrounded by a talented, cross-functional team who will support your development in this role.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for assigned trade

  • Manage full P&L for assigned trade customers with a focus on optimizing volume, pricing, mix and allowances

  • Own relationship with trade customer merchant teams

  • Collaborate with trade customer teams to plan & execute marketing and promotional plans to support go-to-market strategy

  • Develop Point of Sale (POS) forecast in Anaplan utilizing trend data analysis, Merch & Customer input

  • Collaborate with Demand Planning on order forecast as part of monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) planning process

  • Monitor business and marketing trends, analyze and forecast business results, and take action with cross-functional teams to deliver profit plan

  • Practice agile, creative problem-solving by working independently and with direct team on frequent, short deadlines

  • Travel to Chicago or Seattle for quarterly planning meetings with Amazon

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of sales or merchandising experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing

  • Experience selling and merchandising with national trade

  • An in-depth understanding of channel selling processes/channel management, and financial analysis

  • Exceptional communicator with impeccable interpersonal skills, clear and effective writing, and excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Leadership skills with the ability to positively influence the KASA culture
