Job Description:

Perform Information System Security Officer (ISSO) core functions at the AF DCGS Experimental Enclave, Langley AFB, VA. This is a normal day shift position: no evenings, weekends, or holidays are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review System Artifacts: Assess AF DCGS artifacts, evaluate system designs for security impacts and determine the assessment required. Provide IA&A Documentation, which includes but is not limited to reports, analysis, and memoranda.

  • Perform On-Site Assessments: Perform Test and Evaluation (T&E); interview system Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); validate physical controls; HW/SW lists; topology and ports, protocols, and services (TPPS). In addition, document and provide On-Site Assessments.

  • Finalize Risk Score and Validate the Report: Identify information assurance control impacts and likelihoods. Prepare a system risk rating and determine risk reduction measures based on information assurance control subject areas. Prepare and maintain a Risk Assessment Report.

  • Conduct a Management Review: Perform a QA review of the risk scores and risk assessment reports.

  • Ensure processes, enhancements and sustainment activities are following the NIST 800-53 security controls in accordance with the RMF process.

  • Provide enterprise sustainment picture of the AF DCGS to include the likelihood of risk impacts to the mission.

  • Ensure processes for system applications can move through the IA&A process. Streamline the IA&A process and reduce the time to submit and achieve accreditations.

  • Provide embedded resources to assist the information assurance programs with control interpretation, validation, and scoring.

  • Provide draft discovery and registration documents within the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) workflow tool (e.g., XACTA or an established cyber risk management and compliance solution that streamlines and automates the NIST RMF and the associated assessment and authorization process required for ATO) within Government SME established timelines.

  • Ensure all requirements are met as outlined in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 and NIST 800-37 for the development of XACTA package Bodies of Evidence.

  • Provide Information System Security Officer (ISSO) activities in support of system development to create, update and sustain authorization packages in the XACTA information assurance Management (XIAM) Tool for existing and evolving information system security requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification

  • Two years experience as an ISSO or ISSM

  • Two years experience in the Risk Management Framework Process

  • Four years experience as either an IT or IA professional

  • Experience using Xacta or eMASS

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree

  • DoD 8570 IAM III

  • Network architecture and data flow knowledge

  • Experience with the following tools:SCAP, ACAS/NESSUS, Fortify

  • Familiar with AF DCGS IT systems and networks

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Travel 5% CONUS.
