The Department of Transportation is on the lookout for a qualified individual to take on the role of Roadway Programs Technician 1 in Lancaster County. This position involves executing a variety of technical responsibilities aimed at supporting the evaluation, analysis, and enhancement of maintenance operations, all while aligning with the strategic goals set by management and adhering to the established policies and procedures of the department within Lancaster County. In this role, you will evaluate work plans to confirm that the program is well-balanced and that the necessary labor, materials, equipment, and funding are in place to execute these plans effectively. You will also support the modification of work plans as needed. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and analyzing data from the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) Plant Maintenance and Roadway Management Systems to ensure that program objectives are met and that overall system control is upheld. You will be tasked with reviewing and monitoring work data to ensure adherence to MAPI measurement standards, providing recommendations for organizational improvements based on your findings.

Additionally, you will assist in overseeing maintenance operations in the field to verify compliance with approved maintenance standards and conduct field studies to collect data from various maintenance activities for the purpose of developing work standards. You will play a key role in managing the materials aspect of the SAP Plant Maintenance and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Systems for the county organization, facilitating the purchase, receipt, storage, and distribution of all bulk materials and garage storeroom items to ensure resource availability and optimize resource utilization. Your duties will also involve overseeing the creation and upkeep of inventory records in line with Department policy, ensuring that various inventory control methods are implemented and followed. You will be responsible for completing goods receipt entries in SAP for bulk materials received from suppliers.

Furthermore, you will assist in the development and execution of the county's salt management plan, analyzing spreader data to ensure that equipment operators adhere to Department policies regarding the appropriate spreading formulas. Lastly, you will assist in conducting stockpile reviews as necessary to ensure that the inventory recorded in the system accurately reflects the actual quantities on hand.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
