Job Title: Equipment Mechanic (Road Service Tech)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic (Road Service Tech) to join our team. This position involves performing preventative maintenance and repair on scissor lifts, boom lifts, bulldozers, excavators, and other various large equipment. The ideal candidate will be strong mechanically and proficient electrically.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on various large equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, bulldozers, and excavators.

• Change oil, replace hoses and belts, fabricate parts, and run diagnostics to determine problems.

• Travel to customer sites to perform troubleshooting and repair on rental equipment.

• Work in a team-oriented environment and be willing to help out where required.

• Be on call after hours for emergency repair needs, though this is rare.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience.

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines.

• Experience with CAN bus systems used in various types of vehicles.

• Experience with hydraulic systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.

Work Environment

You will be working in a non-climate controlled shop and out in the field at various customer sites. You will be working outdoors and exposed to the elements depending on the time of year. The position involves a 50-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with shifts starting at 7am and ending at 5pm during training. After training, shifts will start at 6am and end at 4pm. The company provides a 2022 work truck that the employee can take home every night. Travel is mostly local within 30-90 minutes of Lancaster, with occasional trips as far as Philadelphia or Baltimore.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
