Overview

​​​​​ Graham Packaging is seeking a results-driven Global Sourcing Manager - Resins to lead our high-performing resin sourcing team. The Global Sourcing Manager, Resins will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and working with a talented team to drive cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure continuity of supply. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of resin sourcing dynamics.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of material sourcing strategies for resin and other categories.

  • Own and drive the day-to-day supplier management including cost, delivery, and quality.

  • Assist in the with the negotiation of supply agreements to deliver supply assurance and measurable value back to the business.

  • Collaborate with Commercial teams to drive EBITDA contributions and support customer retention.

  • Cultivate market intelligence and supplier knowledge and develop an understanding of material used in the manufacturing processes to support TCO opportunities and process improvements.

  • Assist in producing annual budgets for key materials using statistical, historical and market data.

  • Provide monthly price and market updates as a measure against the budget.

  • Work with Regulatory Affairs and suppliers to ensure compliance for new and existing materials.

  • Drive savings initiatives via supplier, operations, and business collaborations. Demonstrate the ability to develop agendas, lead meetings and, document and publish critical project results.

  • Champion sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship in resin sourcing activities that support the sustainable procurement strategy and promotes the use of sustainable materials and responsible sourcing practices.

  • Lead and mentor a team of direct material sourcing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and foster a collaborative team culture in a matrix organization.

  • Analytical Skills : An ability to relate & compare, securing relevant information and identifying key issues. This includes seeking and organizing information and conducting relevant data analysis.

  • Financial & Qualitative Acumen : Demonstrate an understanding of the use, interpretation, and impact of key quantitative and financial measures.

  • Visionary : Must be able to challenge existing processes and paradigms

  • Collaboration : Show the ability to interface with Operations members and manage projects to drive cost and process improvements while working in a fast-paced team environment

Education and Work Experience

  • BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline from an accredited 4 yr. college or university

  • Commodity procurement experience (7-10 yr.), sales, engineering, operations, or other related functional experience

  • 2-4 years experience leading high performing teams

  • General understanding of supplier markets and ability to perform market analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using current business applications.

  • Experience operating in a common ERP system (SAP [preferred], Oracle, etc.)

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to work across all organization levels.

  • Ability to travel as needed for conferences, trainings, meetings, etc.

Preferred:

  • Prior experiences sourcing / selling Polyethylene or Polypropylene resin or other similar commodities.

  • Broad understanding of the global chemical and resin industry

  • Experience negotiating commodities.

  • Detailed knowledge of the recycled plastics markets.

The standard compensation for this role is $104,600 - $151,100. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
