Vontier Manufacturing Engineer II in Lakewood, New York
You will serve as the Manufacturing Engineer for Matco Tools Jamestown Tool Storage plant.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Project work to optimize production operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics through the utilization of Lean techniques such as 5S, SMED, Standard Work, Variation Reduction, etc.
Participate in new product introductions to the manufacturing floor through design for manufacturability review, layouts, cell setup, documentation, training, and automation etc.
Work closely with production associates and leadership to drive daily performance on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost to support production goals.
Work with leadership team to identify and implement cost savings opportunities and provide supporting analysis.
Participate in troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action processes as required.
Support PD and VBS (Lean) initiatives.
Create, upkeep, and optimize programs for machines including the robotic welder, turrets, and press brakes.
VBS Champion in at least one VBS tool to support Lean initiatives.

CAREER PROGRESSIONS / PROMOTABLE TO: Possible progression to Manufacturing Engineering II within 24 months for high-potential associates.
The base compensation range for this position is $77,000 to $95,000 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based on a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
Bachelor’s degree (BS Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related)
Sheet metal, design/manufacturing or related experience preferred
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CAD such as Solid Works
CNC programming ability
Robotic welding ability
Purchasing / negotiation skills
