(Remote) Must have federal government experience to be considered for the position NexGen Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Azure Architectto support IT application modernization. We are looking for a customer-focused Azure Architect passionate about modernizing and transforming legacy systems through pragmatic enterprise strategies. The ideal candidate will smoothly transition between tactical and strategic conversations with technical, business, and mission leadership. This individual will work closely with members of NexGen and Client's staff, including but not limited to subject matter experts, technical staff, and project managers in an Agile environment. You understand the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommendations, security controls, and their applicability to federal IT envir Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: * Advise stakeholders and translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable Azure-based solutions. * Design and implement solutions and business applications running on Microsoft Azure, including aspects like compute, network, storage, and security. * Provide technical expertise for architecting solutions responsive to federal mandates, priorities, and goals. * Develop future-state roadmaps, drive consensus and proof of concepts, and demonstrate viable alternative paths to modernizing applications to Azure. * Estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives. * Routinely interact with clients and internal teams such as developers and analyst teams. * Assist with formalizing, standardizing, and maturing cloud-based application services offerings. * Other duties may be assigned. Technical Skills: * 5+ years of experience in developing application architecture and roadmap in Azure. * 5+ years of Enterprise architecture experience with on-prem and application modernization, enterprise application integration, DevOps, and cloud technology projects. * 3+ years of experience architecting Azure cloud Solutions and application migration to Azure. * 3+ or more years of working experience with one or more cloud service providers advanced concepts such as Serverless, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure ADO Repos. * Deep domain expertise of Azure Services commonly used in applications (i.e., Azure App Service, Azure Web Apps, Blob Storage, Azure Cognitive Search/Services, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, etc.). * Experience building a cloud governance plan, setting best cloud practices and procedures. Desired Skills: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Additional Requirements: * The candidate should also possess strong oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills and should be a team player. * Federal Government experience is required. (Prefer experience with the DOI) * The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment. * US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements Education: Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
