Job Title: PLC Technician
Job Description
Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems, program or repair PLC systems, and maintain PLC networks. Conduct breakdown analysis and perform troubleshooting and repair on electrical wiring and motor controls. Upgrade production lines with new or upgraded equipment and technology. Oversee general housekeeping and direct activities of outside contractors. Execute package changeovers and complete PLC control updates to support V curve performance. Troubleshoot and write code in Ladder Logic or function block. Perform preventative maintenance on Device Net and track temporary repairs in logic using CMMS/EXCEL. Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards while working independently under limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems
Program or perform repairs on PLC systems
Perform preventative maintenance or repairs on advanced production equipment as needed
Perform breakdown analysis
Perform electrical wiring and motor controls troubleshooting and repair
Maintain PLC networks
Oversee or perform general housekeeping
Upgrade production lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology
Direct activities of outside contractors working on assigned line
Change line for package changeovers
Understand and complete PLC control updates and revisions to support V curve performance
Troubleshoot and write code in Ladder Logic or function block
Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on Device Net
Track all temporary repairs made in logic via CMMS/EXCEL and follow through to bring equipment back to basic conditions
Accomplish tasks with minimal guidance
Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards
Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
Meticulous documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed
Essential Skills
Electrical troubleshooting and repair
Blueprint reading and interpretation
Pneumatics and hydraulics maintenance
Preventative maintenance
Mechanical skills and use of hand tools
PLC maintenance and troubleshooting
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.)
Experience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.)
Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays)
Experience with troubleshooting (e.g., diagnostics, problem solving, etc.)

Work Environment
Physical requirements include continuously standing or walking, and regularly lifting, handling, or carrying moderate weight materials or equipment. The position requires moderate visual and sensory attention, with a very repetitive work environment. There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands. The work schedule follows a Continental Shift (2-2-3) with 12-hour shifts from 5:00AM to 5:30PM.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lakeland, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $74880.00/yr.
