Job Title: Floating Medical Assistant

Job Description

The floating medical assistant will be responsible for providing assistance to locations in Lakeland and Winter Haven. The home office will be in Lakeland at the Edgewood office. Candidates need to have at least 2 years of clinic experience as a medical assistant and a certification or diploma. If they do not have a cert or diploma, then they are required to have at least 3 years of experience. Candidates also need to have strong phlebotomy skills and preferably experience drawing from children. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the MA role or dedicated lab station. They are also responsible for supporting the clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating pediatric patient population.

Hard Skills

  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices

  • Phlebotomy skills

Soft Skills

  • Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public

  • Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lakeland, Florida.

Work Environment

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and every other Saturday 7:45am-12pm (half day off during week). Floating to Lakeland Hills and Winter Haven.
