PHARMACIST - Inpatient Pharmacy

Per diem (as needed) $74.74 - $107.62 per hour DOE

Duty is to ensure the safe and effective use of medication by reviewing and verifying prescriptions, monitoring patient drug therapy, and providing drug information to healthcare providers.

Roles and Responsibilities Patient Care: Provide direct patient care by preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring patient drug therapy, and identifying and resolving drug-related problems.

Collaboration with a Healthcare Team including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care and ensure the safe and effective use of medications.

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate drug inventory and ordering systems, ensuring adequate supplies are available for patient care.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with locate, state, and federal laws and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy, including HIPAA, DEA regulations, and USP 797.

Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of pharmacy and continue professional development through continuing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have current California Pharmacy License, BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D preferred.
• Must be familiar with all pharmacy guidelines and regulations.
• Frequently fast-paced environment requires ability to handle stress.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both verbal and written.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with patients, residents, staff, general public and governmental agencies.
• Good computer skills required.
