We are currently looking for an Executive Director, Voluntary Benefits to join our IT Applications organization. This IT Leader will be responsible for partnering with the business to understand the business model, developing strategic roadmaps, assisting in the prioritization of projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment, and directing IT strategy in support of the overall business and Trustmark’s vision & strategy. They will also lead a team of IT associates to build new, enhance, and support existing applications/products, including back office, front office, customer-facing, and mobile technologies.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide strategic consulting, support, and guidance regarding key IT initiatives to the Voluntary Benefits business unit.

  • Makes strategic decisions based on company goals and objectives. Presents to ELT on projects or strategic items.

  • Development and implementation of technology strategies, systems, and solutions for the Voluntary Benefits division.

  • Contributes to and develops guidelines, processes, and procedures for the IT Application organization.

Business-IT Alignment:

  • The strategic interface of business units for business and IT strategy development, solution discovery, service, risk, and relationship management. Serves as a liaison between business units and IT.

  • Oversees the identification, prioritization, and delivery of work; development of expectations and business architecture.

  • Responsible for developing and delivering products, solutions, or services.

Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Communicates decisions, priorities, and project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects, and initiatives.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact and advisor for IT Executives. Advises in delivering products and services to value all business partners.

Execution:

  • Responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects supporting strategic business objectives.

  • Drives innovation and seasoned direction in area of expertise.

  • Partner on strategic/annual planning and intake.

Technical Leadership:

  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture and Digital Engineering to develop secure solutions that comply with reference architectures and adhere to our digital engineering practices.

  • Expert business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area(s).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related IT field required; advanced Degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of experience in IT, including direct experience leading IT delivery teams and working with MSPs.

  • 5+ years working with strategic partners as an extension of the IT organization.

  • 3+ years leading an organizational change to agile delivery models.

  • Experience in application development, support, and delivery.

  • Technically proficient in a wide range of architectural patterns, development languages, middleware applications, operational frameworks, process improvement models, and best practices.

  • Strong business acumen and relationship management skills.

  • Proven ability to influence all levels of the organization.
