York Seaway is a family owned business located in Lake City PA. We are currently looking for the following position 30-40 hours per week.

Description

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Office Accountant in the Manufacturing Industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial records (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, HR). You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our company and supporting our overall business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports for our Accountant.
  • Handle employee related insurance issues and deal with agents.
  • Employee time entering and preparation for weekly payroll
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying discrepancies or issues and making recommendations for resolution.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including reviewing invoices, reconciling payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both in hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Prepare the monthly reports for our Accountant by providing necessary documentation and answering any questions.

Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is helpful.
  • Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and can learn JobBoss.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other office personnel.
