Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for maintaining plant machinery and equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. The role requires troubleshooting and analysis to fix equipment problems, performing general building maintenance, and assisting the Facilities Engineer in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies. The candidate must be flexible with working hours, including weekends or after-hours if needed, and must be comfortable with heights. The individual will work on various tasks from floor to ceiling within the building, including electrical and plumbing tasks, large press operations, working with large rollers, pumps, and rewinding machines. Basic PLC knowledge and the ability to read blueprints and drawings are essential.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in LAKE BLUFF, Illinois.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working at the Lake Bluff location where materials are mass-produced. The facility specializes in making coatings and adhesives, including non-slip walkways, skateboard grip tape, and emergency exit signs. The facility has a strong chemical smell due to the chemicals used in adhesive manufacturing. The maintenance team is very small, consisting of only two people, providing an excellent opportunity to learn from an experienced colleague who has worked there for 25-30 years.
