Description
Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 535 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks a Makerspace Coordinator (Long Term Sub) position. The focus of this position is to oversee the Dawson Center for Innovation makerspace and serve as the lead creative technologist in the space. The School is a growing and passionate educational community dedicated to the healthy development and education of all of its students.
This substitute Makerspace Coordinator position will last for approximately 12 weeks of work over the course of late January through May and will include several breaks where the substitute will not be needed over that time period.

Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree in a related field of design / creative technology
At least 2+ years working in leadership /supervision of makerspaces
Background in developing and implementing curriculum around design thinking, prototyping, and engineering
Experience teaching computer programming, 3D modeling, 2D design, and digital fabrication

Duties/Responsibilities
Reports to the Director of Innovation and Technology
Manages and supervises the makerspace and digital fabrication wood and metal shops
Organization of space, programs, schedule, classes, clubs
Material procurement
Cleaning and organization of the space
Ensuring the safe operation of equipment
Equipment maintenance
Teaches one Upper School Innovation and Technology class - 3D Modeling and Digital Sculpting
Supports innovative, cross disciplinary programming taking place in the Makerspace
Supports classes and activities that take place in the Makerspace throughout the day
Participate in class trips
Additional duties as deemed necessary by the School
The hourly salary range for this part-time, non-exempt position is$22.00 to $25.00. Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits.
