Intermountain Health Cardiovascular Program Coordinator Chest Pain in Lafayette, Colorado

Job Description:

The incumbent plans, implements,and supervises assigned sports or clinical program(s). Services as a liaison between the facilities departments,community,schools,and youth sport organizations. May also include administering performance sports training protocols.

Shift Details : Monday through Friday, Days. No weekends or holidays.

Department : The Chest Pain Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the chest pain program. This position involves collaborating with our cardiovascular registrar to ensure the maintenance and accuracy of databases relevant to chest pain accreditation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for patients within the chest pain program.

  • Providing pertinent education related to the chest pain program to staff and patients.

The Chest Pain Coordinator actively collaborates with several departments to ensure comprehensive care and effective program management. These departments include:

  • Emergency Department: Working closely with emergency staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of chest pain patients.

  • Cath Lab: Coordinating with the catheterization lab for procedures and interventions required for chest pain patients.

  • Cardiology: Collaborating with cardiologists and other cardiac care professionals to manage patient care and program initiatives.

  • All Patient Care Areas: Engaging with various patient care units throughout the hospital to ensure continuity of care and adherence to chest pain program protocols.

This role is vital for maintaining high standards of care and achieving successful outcomes for patients experiencing chest pain.

Scope

  • As a Cardiovascular Program Coordinator Chest Pain, you need to know how to

  • Serves as a coordinator for assigned program. Discusses program with physicians, nurses and Cardiovascular leadership team and concurrently reviews that all care meets evidence-based guidelines. Provides and/or oversees required education to patients and family members during the hospital stay and serves as a resource and contact for patients and their families after they are discharged.

  • Actively participates in patient care rounds and responds to any urgent patient care activations (eg. Cardiac alerts for Chest Pain Program Coordinator) to provide support and identify any education and training needs for associates

  • Collaborates with the director to oversee and ensure that the program meets the regulatory requirements. Performs chart reviews and collects, analyzes and reports data for performance improvement activities, planning and evaluation of the program

  • Collaborates with the director to develop and implement evidence-based policies and standards for the program. Assesses plans, develops, implements and evaluates activities that promote professional development and continuing competence of care site providers and associates

  • Maintains and/or analyzes data collected on assigned program. Serves as the leader and subject matter expert for the program. Creates and maintains a Quality Assurance program and coordinates all program certification/accreditation activities

  • Promotes program to internal and external audiences

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree required

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing is preferred- Current licensure, registry, or certification in clinical field is required- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) course completion card from the American Heart Association is required

  • Registered Nurse in the state of practice is preferred

  • ACLS is preferred

  • Three (3) years relevant clinical experience is required. (for example - Cath Lab Tech, RN, NP).

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$41.22 - $63.59
