Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Quality Control Lab Technician position at a specialty chemical company in LaPorte TX. The overall responsibility of the position is to provide routine and non-routine analytical support to ensure that the final products manufactured at the facility are within quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze routine and non-routine samples using approved methods under minimal supervision

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instrumentation including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, IC, GFAA, TOC analyzers, and other equipment

• Test raw materials for qualification and approval to be used in the production of the company’s products

• Analyze samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.

• Record raw data and final results into logbooks or computers and provide accurate data within an acceptable time frame

• Ensure reliability of test results through the analysis of Standards and Statistical Process Control

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and perform simple maintenance

• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas

• Order and maintain supplies/chemicals

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry or related scientific discipline

• 3-5 years of QC lab experience is preferred, but fresh graduates will also be considered

• Instrument experience on any or all of the following: ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, TOC analyzers, ICP-OES, and GFAA

• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel are essential

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

• Ability to work overtime as needed

• Must be willing to be flexible to changing work priorities and tasks

• Strong commitment to personal and workplace safety

This is a temp to hire position with a Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, work schedule with possible overtime and some scheduled weekend work. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration. #P1
