Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$56.580 - $70.170 - $83.760

The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO. Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.

What You Will Do

As experienced RNs who are new to acute care and progressive care, you will participate in an 8 week - Transition in Practice orientation program that will provide nursing skills lab/simulation and a mentorship process to enhance your nursing competencies and advance your career. Hours

  • Full-time; 12-hour shift; Night Shift; including every other weekend

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a U.S. state-approved and accredited nursing program

  • Current unencumbered California RN license

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for a healthcare provider

  • Other required certifications must be completed/submitted according to timeline e.g. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - within 90 days of hire

  • One year RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

  • One year RN experience in LTAC, SNF, Post Acute, Behavioral Health, Home Health, Urgent Care and Clinics within the last year

Applications for our Spring Transition in Practice 8 Week Training Program will be accepted on the following dates:

Thursday, January 30th, at 8:00 am PST through Friday, February 14th, at 5:00 pm PST.

Program start date will be on March 10th for new hires and March 9th, 2025, for Internal transfers.

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit – Night Shift

Required: Graduate of nursing school; Current CA RN License, AHA BLS, NIHSS Preferred: BSN

RN Certification preferred: SCRN or PCCN

Purpose (of unit): Sharp Grossmont is the only Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center in East County and in The Sharp Health System.

Our Neuroscience PCU is the designated Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit for our Neuroscience Building Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Annually, our staff complete 8 hours of stroke education, in addition to the other required trainings, to enhance the quality of care we provide to our patients.

Top 5 Diagnoses: CVA, TIA, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Hypertensive Urgency, and Diabetes Mellitus

Accreditation/Designations: Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center

Point of Entry – Vast majority of our patients are admitted through the Emergency Department, Post-Op, and as a Stroke code from other inpatient areas.
